Welcome to Bogey Lane, a custom 3,088-square-foot home expertly designed and built by Dog Star Construction. The house plan was created by Travis to maximize the site’s natural beauty, optimize light, and take full advantage of the tranquil lake view from the front of the home. With 10-foot ceilings on the main level and 9-foot ceilings upstairs, the home offers an open, airy atmosphere throughout.

The upper-level features four generously sized bedrooms, including an expansive 800 square foot primary suite with a gas fireplace, private deck, and a luxurious spa-like bathroom featuring a soaking tub, separate walk-in shower, and elegant finishes. A conveniently located laundry room upstairs near the bedrooms enhances everyday functionality.

On the main floor, the double-door entry opens to a dedicated office, followed by a spacious living area with a gas fireplace. The impressive kitchen includes an oversized island, stainless
steel appliances, and ample storage—ideal for both entertaining and daily living. The dining area is defined by four elegant columns and a coffered ceiling.

At the back of the home, a virtual wall of windows and French doors open to a private deck overlooking serene forest views—a hallmark of Dog Star Construction’s signature approach to blending indoor comfort with the natural environment.

Valley View

This custom-built 4,200-square foot home is a true showcase of Dog Star Construction’s craftsmanship and design expertise. Created from the ground up by Travis, the home was thoughtfully designed to harmonize with the steep, wooded terrain while maximizing Lake Whatcom views from every floor. The result is a stunning five-bedroom, three-and-a-half-bath
residence that blends beauty, functionality, and artistry.

The main level features an office, a spacious gourmet kitchen with granite countertops, a walk-in pantry, and rich hardwood flooring that extends throughout the home. Three separate decks—each offering a breathtaking view of Lake Whatcom—create multiple outdoor living spaces to relax, entertain, or simply take in the serene setting.

From design concept to final detail, Travis oversaw every aspect of construction, including finish carpentry, cabinetry, and stonework. A striking example of his attention to detail is the custom-cut granite North Star emblem set into the tiled entryway—intentionally placed to point true north and serve as both a symbolic and architectural centerpiece of the home.

4 Sugarpine Place

The Sugarpine Cul-de-sac homes presented unique challenges, as the site had not been fully developed since initial construction began in the 1970s. Utility hubs required relocation, parking infrastructure was nonexistent, and the cul-de-sac itself was not built to proper specifications. Through strategic planning, creative problem-solving, and extensive coordination led by Travis, Dog Star Construction successfully overcame these obstacles and cleared the way for construction.

Welcome to 4 Sugarpine Place—a thoughtfully designed 4-bedroom, 3-bathroom home that combines comfort, functionality, and natural beauty. The upper level offers stunning forest views and abundant southern exposure. The spacious primary suite includes a full walk-in closet and a beautifully appointed en-suite bathroom featuring a barn-style shower door and elegant tile work. The open-concept great room centers around a cozy gas fireplace, while the kitchen is equipped with stainless steel appliances and a large island ideal for cooking and entertaining. Additional highlights include a dedicated laundry room with access to the back deck and a bedroom with French doors that open to a private outdoor retreat. Hardwood flooring runs throughout the home, enhancing its warmth and elegance. The main living area includes a spacious, well-appointed kitchen with a walk-in pantry—perfect for daily
living and entertaining.

The primary bedroom includes French doors that open directly onto the heated back deck, offering a seamless indoor-outdoor experience and a peaceful vantage point to enjoy the mountain setting and distant lake view.
